Chuy’s: an up-and-coming restaurant in the area

Chuys%3A+an+up-and-coming+restaurant+in+the+area

Chuy’s is a Tex-Mex chain restaurant that is very popular in the South – and there is a new location that recently opened up in Fairfax, Virginia. Despite the fact that Chuy’s has only 62 locations scattered across the country, they are thriving as a fun family restaurant.

Not only does Chuy’s have great food, but it also has a great atmosphere. For instance, the restaurant is visually appealing, with bright colors and eye-catching decorations. The restaurant’s floors and walls are covered in beautifully painted one-of-a-kind tiles. Chuy’s represents a very authentic and unique feel – a mix between a diner and a Mexican restaurant.

Chuy’s is also known for its enchiladas, fajitas, and amazing sauces. The most popular sauces include Ranchero, Tomatillo, and Creamy Jalapeno. The Oakton Outlook recently interviewed Kirk Johnson, the manager of the Chuy’s in Fairfax. Johnson worked at the original Chuy’s location in Austin, Texas, when he was in college, and then came back into the restaurant business a few years later. He did this because he wanted to help Chuy’s grow in the Northern Virginia area, and because he loves the company.

Johnson has managed the Fairfax restaurant since it opened a year ago, and he has done a great job of continuing to bring in new customers and lovers of Tex-Mex food. There are also new locations in Sterling and Woodbridge opening up in a few months, so make sure to visit Chuy’s for a great time and great food.

About the Contributor
Jessica Marshall, Editor-in-Chief
Hi, my name is Jessica Marshall, and I am a senior at Oakton High School. I am so excited to be Editor-in-Chief for the Oakton Outlook this year and lead a successful publication. I have previously served as a staff writer and the Arts and Entertainment Editor for the Outlook. My favorite subjects in school are Spanish and Biology, as I hope to study nursing and kinesiology in college and pursue a career in either physical therapy or nursing. Outside of school, I dance for the Ballet Arts Ensemble of Fairfax, with jazz, tap, and modern dance on the side. My favorite quote is, "If you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul." This will be a fantastic year for the Outlook, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
