Leaks and rumors of folding phones arrised last year and began with the Samsung leak that exposed a project that would allow for a bending display. Once leaked, rumors of a foldable Samsung phone circulated around the news until February when Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold. The two thousand dollar foldable phone was announced alongside the new S10 and S10+ models that follow a more familiar form factor.

The retail unboxing of the first foldable phone on the market makes the customer feel as if they have bought a piece of gold rather than a phone. Intricate designs and flaps with magnets portray the high end device that you have purchased before you even power the phone on.

When the phone is powered on, the crease in the middle of the display is slightly noticeable but once you make the first fold it seems to be worth it for such a unique experience. In the folded position, a smaller display can run all the apps that the larger, unfolded one can yet the larger display is better utilized for things like navigation and watching movies. The smaller folded design is best for making phone calls or quickly checking messages.

Being on the forefront of this new phone design warrants the two thousand dollar price tag.The phone ships with Galaxy buds, a usually expressive accessory for Samsung phones, much like Airpods for the iPhone. This product is the first experimentation with folding displays from Samsung and it has numerous bugs so the product is not for the average consumer just yet.
