It’s May and while that means the end of the year is approaching, it also means that our teachers have been teaching us for nine months. This week is teacher appreciation week and this provides a perfect time for you to give thanks to your teacher for instructing you throughout the year. Here are some ways to show appreciation to your teachers this year.
The classic box of chocolates is always a good way to go because let’s face it, who doesn’t love chocolate? Add a short note thanking your teacher for all they’ve done for you, and you’re good to go. A box of chocolates will satisfy your teacher’s sweet tooth and show your sentiments.
If you’re planning more school-wide, another way to show appreciation is to organize a breakfast for all of the teachers and contribute by having students bring in their teacher’s’ favorite breakfast items. While this idea may be less personal, it will still show appreciation and would certainly be an enjoyable experience for our teachers.
Another way to show appreciation is to decorate your teacher’s classroom door. This would be a fun project to do with your friends before school starts and would definitely show how much you appreciate your teacher. On the door, you could cut and paste letters to spell things like “thanks a minion for all that you do” and “we need s’more teachers like you” and decorate the door according to theme of your message. This would no doubt grab your teacher’s attention and let them know they are appreciated.
Finally, if you’re not sure what your teacher likes, but you still want to gift them something, you can always get them a gift card and write them a note. While a simple gesture, it still shows appreciation.
At the end of day, it isn’t the gift that matters, but your teachers knowing that you appreciate them for the hard work that they put into teaching you. This week, make sure you make it known to your teachers that you are thankful for all they do for you!
