At the beginning of the year, it seems as though everyone is putting effort into their outfits in the hope of making a good impression on the passerby. But how long do students really take to get ready for school in the morning? The time definitely fluctuates depending on the day and situation. This is a two-part story that will have a follow-up article towards the end of the year to see if the time it takes students to get ready is affected by the time of year it is.
Students were given a survey to fill out with the following questions: how long does it take you to get ready for school and what time do you arrive at school? The results varied among responses. Looking at the results, there is little to no correlation between the time it takes students to get ready and the time they arrive at school. Focusing on seniors, the sample may be affected by college applications, the upcoming SAT, or even grades, which could all be factors in the time they have to get ready.
How long does it take you to get ready for school?
– 1-1.5 hours: 14.3%
– 30-45 minutes: 42.9%
– 15 minutes: 28.6%
– less than 10 minutes: 14.3%
When do you get to school?
– before 7:30: 7.1%
– 7:30-7:45: 14.3%
– 7:50-8: 42.9%
– 8:10: 28.6%
– after 8:10: 7.1%
It is interesting to see the varied responses and the little to no correlation. Moving forward, it’ll be intriguing to see how workload or stress impact the time students take to get ready. Later in the year, a correlation may form, whether it’s positive or negative.
