Powder puff, the flag football game between the junior and senior class, is being postponed

Last Sunday, the Washington Football Team played the Philadelphia Eagles for a chance to conquer the worst division in NFL history. The New York Giants also had a lot weighing on them this game – If the Eagles won, they would be going to the playoffs, but with an Eagles loss, they would be denied for the third straight year in a row. This game was by far the most crucial game of the season for both the Washington Football Team and the New York Giants.

The first quarter started with a Football Team touchdown and field goal to put them up 10-0. The Eagles bounced back in the second quarter with 14 points to make the score 10-14. With another Football Team touchdown, the score at halftime was Washington Football Team 17-14 Eagles.

The third quarter yielded no scores for either team. However, at the end of the quarter, Eagles coach Doug Pederson made a controversial call that eventually got him fired: he took out quarterback Jalen Hurts and put in third-string QB Nick Sudfeild.

This move was controversial for many reasons. The first was that Coach Pederson knew a loss in the game would guarantee a better draft spot, but would also prevent the giants from going to the playoffs.

From this point on, it went downhill for the Eagles, and the final score was a 20-14 with a Washington Football Team win.

The backlash against the Eagles organization and Doug Pederson was immense, and even players on the team were angry. Running back Miles Sanders had this to say:

“Man if I’m being honest, nobody liked the decision, nobody. That’s all I can say really. I don’t know who was the main person behind that decision. All I know is that a lot of people on the team was confused.”

The decision also drew heavy criticism from the Giants head coach, Joe Judge. While he never named the eagles or Pederson, it was clear they were the target of his anger. He said the following

“To disrespect the effort that everyone put forward to make this season a success for the National Football League, to disrespect the game by going out there and not competing for 60 minutes and not doing everything you can to help those players win, we will never do that as long as I am the head coach of the New York Giants,”

Apart from the Eagles and Giants, The Washington Football Team will make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2015, and line up against Tom Brady and the Tampa Buccaneers. It is an exciting time to be a Washington Football Team fan.
