Despite the running time being nearly three hours, DC and Warner Brothers have done it again! Fans favorite caped crusader has come back into our lives and into the theaters. In March of this year, theaters released The Batman and this movie is nothing like the other previous Batman movies that people have seen before. The film is about how in the underworld of Gotham City, a sadistic and ruthless killer is leaving cryptic clues for the city’s very own vigilante. As Batman solves the clues and finds the answers, the killer’s message becomes clear. Batman must make new friends to unmask the murderer and bring justice to the city. Actor, Robert Pattinson is taking the mantle and wearing the cape and cowl, and his acting is something else.

The teaser for this film actually came out two years ago in 2020 when the movie was supposed to come out. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the movie got delayed two years later. Thankfully, there were no more setbacks and the film came out early this year. The teaser was released at 2020’s very own DC Fandom where the hero himself Robert Pattinson made a guest appearance. Those who have watched the teaser might have noticed some familiar actors and actresses in other movies. Some characters featured in the teaser are Bruce Wayne/ Batman (Robert Pattinson), Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Penguin (Colin Farell), Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), Bruce’s right hand man Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), and some glimpses of the Riddler (Paul Dano) who is the antagonist of the film. Another trailer came out this year in February showing new characters such as Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and Gotham’s D.A. Gil Colson (Peter Sarsgaard). Fans might have also seen the new and improved Batmobile being used in one of the scenes.

In this Batman movie, it’s not like the previous ones that people have seen before. This one doesn’t necessarily focus on how Bruce Wayne became the caped crusader, how his parents died, or how his parents death drove him to this path. It shines a light on how he is being a symbol of vengeance. Stopping all the criminals and powerful people so his home can be safe. Ben Affleck’s and Christian Bale’s movies however, did focus on those things but not only that, it also concentrated on their playboy persona. Meaning that they acted like a spoiled rich kid to throw people off into thinking that they aren’t Batman. This year’s movie focused on the sad, depressed side of Bruce after all he has been through. Another great thing about this movie is that the director, Matt Reeves, has also given fans a little excitement about one of the well known villains in the movie, the Joker played by Barry Keoghan. Unfortunately, the actor was not shown in the movie, but is featured in one of the deleted scenes from the movie. Another piece of great news is that Reeves has given the green light to there being a sequel to The Batman. I think it is safe to say that this isn’t the last time you will be seeing Pattinson as Gotham’s very own hero.
