The most recent concert that happened was The Backseat Lovers, an alternative rock band. Their songs became popular in the last couple of years and the name is quickly spreading. Kajsa Eyre (11) says she loves “how poetic their lyrics are and how passionate they are about their music. You can tell there is an intended story and message behind every song.” Even though sitting in the car blasting songs is fun, Eyre explains how “at the concert, everyone there all had the same love for the band and music, which brought hype and excitement.” She encourages sharing the love of music with friends because “One of the main reasons why it was so much fun was because [she] went with some of [her] closest friends who all sang along and freaked out when hearing [their] favorite songs.” Eyre plans to continue her concert journey later this summer at the Cigarettes After Sex concert and hopes to attend some concerts on the lawn at Wolf Trap and Jiffy Lube.

One of the most notable performers coming to the area is Beyonce. She is performing at FedEx Field on August fifth and sixth. This is a show-stopping performance that will be hard to miss, especially because she hasn’t been on tour since five years ago in 2018. This tour includes elaborate outfits, energetic backup dancers, stunning vocals, and eye-capturing stage visuals.

Some other amazing artists coming to the area are P!nk, 21 Savage, Drake, Melanie Martinez, Bebe Rexha, Steve Lacy, Arctic Monkeys, Lil Baby, and Cigarettes After Sex. All artists will be performing in either Virginia or Maryland, making it an optimal driving distance.

In addition to incredible concerts, there are day-long festivals coming to the east coast! The Broccoli City Festival takes place in North Carolina and features primarily black artists. This year, the headliners include Lil Uzu Vert, Jasmine Sullivan, Brent Faiyaz, and Ice Spice. Another popular festival is the All Things Go Music Festival in Columbia, Maryland. The headliners at the All Things Go Music Festival are Lana Del Rey, Maggie Rogers, Suki Waterhouse, and The Wombats. Make sure to get tickets soon because prices for both concerts get more expensive as the festival moves closer!

Concerts are quickly approaching so make sure to get tickets soon. Some available vendors are Ticketmaster, Stubhub, VividSeats, See Tickets, and SeatGeek. Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy the summer!
