Early Preview of 2019 Marvel Movies
The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies were a massive success in 2018. They generated over 4 billion dollars in the box offices as well as Infinity War and Black Panther being nominated for several awards including best visual effects, best picture and best original score. The formula for them was simple; they first released a standalone film giving the backstory of a relatively newly introduced character. The Black Panther will still be in many movies in the future just based on the overwhelming popularity that the film received. Next Marvel released another Avengers movie, this time with the best villain yet and even more heroes than the previous two. Their last release of the year Ant-Man and the Wasp gave fans a lighthearted and fun time at the theater. In 2019, Marvel looks to follow a similar path with Captain Marvel, Avengers Endgame and Spiderman Far from Home.
Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. It will come out on March 8th, a month before Avengers Endgame. The story will follow Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes and a galactic war between two alien races. Captain Marvel was a significant character in the comics because she played a big role in defeating Thanos, the villain from Infinity War in the comics. She was also teased in the end credits scene of Infinity War showing that she will have a significant role in the MCU. According to the president of Marvel, Kevin Feige Captain Marvel is the most powerful hero in the universe. While the movie Captain Marvel looks to be a great new entry in the franchise, there is no question that the reason she was introduced was to play a significant role in future movies.
Avengers Endgame comes out on April 26 and is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. It will star Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and more. This movie is the 4th Avengers movie to be released and is, of course, the sequel to Infinity War. The story will focus on our heroes trying to fix the events of Infinity War and may officially kill off some of our beloved characters like Iron Man or Captain America. It will end phase 3 of the MCU and probably end the stories of all the original characters that started MCU off. The hype for this movie is sky high because it is part two of the culmination of all the previous Marvel films. The popularity of this movie is also because of Thanos. The mad titan who was teased in many other movies finally made his debut in Infinity War and proved he is worth two long movies to defeat. This movie will not only serve as a conclusion to the stories of our favorite characters but also transition the MCU into the next stage.
SpiderMan Far From Home will come out on July 5th. The movie is directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker. The story will follow Peter Parker journey to Europe that is interrupted by Nick Fury and some evil villains. While we don’t know much about the movie because it comes out in over half a year, we do know that it will take place after Endgame and Infinity War. It will be the first movie in Marvel’s phase 4. This movie will also be a sequel to Spiderman Homecoming which turned out to be a huge success. Although the stakes of the movie are not yet known, it promises to be an entertaining film with everyone’s favorite web-slinger Spiderman. This year for Marvel looks to be great because of the introduction of a new character, the epic conclusion of the original avengers story and a sequel to a beloved character that will set up the MCU for more greatness in the future.
