Quick Recap of the Oakton Swim Team

The Oakton Swim Team had a very successful season, with it ending last month. The boys and girls teams both performed extremely well, with the boys never losing a 1 versus 1 match against neighbouring high schools. The girls also did impressively well, with their team winning all but one match against other high schools. The team also made regionals and states, placing highly for both. A freshman on the Swim and Dive team, Evelyn Burns, said, “The season was very amazing. Not only was our team very good, but we developed close, long-lasting friendships through the sport. The team were all incredibly close.”

During the season the swimmers had to practice on all days on the week except for Wednesday, and had a meet every Friday. The practices typically consisted of an hour and a half of hard work at Oakmarr. These practices took place from approximately 4:30 to 6 P.M, preparing for the weekly meets on Friday. As usual, both the boys and girls swim teams had amazing seasons, and are looking forward for the season to pick up next year!
