As we reach mid-June, the season for the annual senior prank commences. For Oakton, students of the 2015 class brought their beds to school. On Wednesday, June 11, with pillows and blankets in hand, seniors marched down the Cougar Path to fill up the gym lobby before first period. Underclassmen and administrators watched from the doorways as the seniors set up camp – tents, sleeping bags and all. Following their arrival, students played music over the intercom to encourage the senior-wide pillow fight. The pillow fight and hallway take over ended around the first period bell, but nobody seemed to be really fazed by the event. Some underclassmen didn’t have a clue that anything had occurred that morning. Junior Zack Lucas said, “I wouldn’t have even known that something was going on had I not stayed in my car for a little more time that morning and seen all the seniors walking down the Cougar Path.” As the seniors of ’15 pack their bags, the class of 2016 prepares to blow away the expectations for senior pranks.
