There are less than two months to go until the Iowa caucus. The polls are still continuing to change everyday, with every new thing that occurs. So far in the race, many politicians have dropped out, the most recent one being a former republican candidate, Bobby Jindal. Two other republican nominees, Rick Perry, and Scott Walker, have also dropped out of the republican race since October. However, the republican party still has a large group of candidates, with fourteen people who are still in contention. As for the democratic side, Lincoln Chafee, Lawrence Lessig, and Jim Webb have dropped out from the race. There are only three democratic nominees left on the democratic side: Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, and Hillary Clinton.
On the republican side, Donald Trump continues to lead the polls. Recently, Dr. Ben Carson has been losing support. Trump noticed Carson’s decreasing number. At Trump’s recent rally, Trump said that Carson’s previous supporters should come join his side. Trump believes, that he has the most loyal supporters. Ohio Governor and fellow republican candidate John Kasich thinks that Trump will not become the republican nominee, and that he will eventually lose steam.
On the democratic side, Clinton is currently polling at 56.6 percent, and Sanders is currently polling at 31.7 percent nationally. Both Clinton and Sanders have rose by over a whole percent in the past month. Sanders is trying to take some of Clinton supporters, and make them his own, but all he is doing is splitting the undecideds with the frontrunners. In New Hampshire, Sanders is ahead of Clinton by only 0.3 percent. If this stays close, it is the only hope of adding drama to the democratic side of the race.
