Boys’ soccer won 1-0 against Herndon playing through the light misty rain on Apr. 9. With senior Millan Khadka scoring early in the first half, the players spent the rest of the game defending their lead despite the Herndon team’s vicious playing and some terrible calls from the referees.
“The score line doesn’t really reflect the game well,” said starting forward Armand Jeffris. “We could’ve won by a lot more, especially if we had had Jimmy Filerman in the mix.”
Jeffris also won something else last night with the help of his teammates: a prom date. After the starting line-up had been called, Jeffris had his teammates who weren’t on the field turn towards the student section to hold up signs to ask senior Emily Smith to prom.
“I had to scream yes to be heard, and the announcer of the game said ‘I think that’s a yes,’” said Smith. “It was such a great way to be asked, and I was so surprised.”
Victorious on and off the field, BSOC definitely had a good night.
