Closest Thing to a “Friends” Reunion

Ever since the show, “Friends” ended in 2004, there have been persistent calls for a reunion show, and hoax advertisements have appeared on all social media including Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, and Jennifer Aniston have attempted to put these rumors to rest , and it has become clear that this most likely will not happen, but Jimmy Kimmel Live! gave fans a taste of what they have looked for.

Aniston visited Jimmy Kimmel on his show to discuss her new movie coming out, “Life of Crime”, but Kimmel tricked her into reading his fan-fiction  script. “I loved the show so much I actually wrote some fan fiction,” Kimmel said. “I wrote myself into it as Ross. I was wondering if you would do a scene from it with me?” Aniston hesitantly agreed and was surprised with an exact replica of Monica and Rachel’s kitchen, and later surprised again when Lisa Kudrow and Cox appeared on set.

The reunion of the three Friends co-stars comes as Warner Bros has unveiled plans to mark the 20th anniversary of the launch of the series with a pop-up Central Perk coffee-house in New York. The show’s iconic coffee shop will be serving free cups of Eight O’clock Coffee to fans between September 17-October 18. Highlights of the Central Perk pop-up shop include special appearances of James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther in “Friends”, in store performances much like Pheobe’s “Smelly Cat”, as well as contests and merchandise for sale. For more details click here.
