NBA off-season preview

As the NBA regular season comes to an end and the playoffs start, it’s time to take a look at the offseason, potential blockbuster moves, trades and more.

Free agency hype has been around Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James the whole season. As the Cleveland Cavaliers struggle through a roller coaster season, the question has always remained at the top while the answer remains at large. Will LeBron James move to a different team this summer, or will he remain in his hometown? In 2010, LeBron left the Cleveland Cavaliers to “take his talents to the south beach” as he said in his infamous segment, The decision. In other words, he went to the Miami Heat where he united with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and went on to win two championships. In 2014, he came back to the Cavaliers, and won a championship in 2016, over the Golden State Warriors, delivering on his promise to the land to bring a championship home. Last season, the Cavaliers went down 4-1 against the Golden State Warriors, who had just added another MVP and All-star player in Kevin Durant to their death core. Last summer, a crucial piece of the Cavaliers rotation, All star guard Kyrie Irving left for Boston. This season, from the beginning, Coach Tyronn Lue has been experimenting with different lineups, while none of them worked. The Cavaliers reached rock-bottom this mid December, which ultimately led to them trading half their team in February. This new young team started good but began to  get shaky. All through the way, however, LeBron James was doing everything he could. For the first time in 15 years, he played all 82 games in the season. But now the question remained, would LeBron leave? There are rumors of him going to Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, and almost every team. States are putting up billboards on highways trying to recruit Lebron James. The Los Angeles Lakers, are pursuing All star Paul George as well this year hoping to pair the two. “I think it would be wise for LeBron to stay in Cleveland this season and try again”, says Melvin Myint (9). While some people feel this way others don’t. “LA baby”, says Jonah Hurr (9).
