On Jan. 27 AJR and Melanie Martinez took to the stage at Jammin’ Java, wow-ing the crowd.

It opened with the group AJR armed with their cardigans, beat mixer drum pad and giddy enthusiasm. Singing songs from their EP Infinity, the brothers danced and bopped around the stage not unlike Joe Jonas circa 2009. Their breakaway sensation “I’m Ready” has a great beat that reminds one of “Lips Are Moving” by Meghan Trainor, but not so much that it feels like the same song, and has a special guest audio appearance of a certain Sponge that likes to say “I’m ready.”

The fans screamed as the tiny colorful girl took the stage. Main act Martinez, best known for her participation on The Voice, played a hype set to the crowd at Jammin Java. With her signature style of dystopian cuteness, the talented 19-year-old sang songs from her EP Dollhouse, and her unreleased album. Her style of rhythmic beats and little girl motif, and vocals sweet as icing wowed the crowd and anyone who has bought her EP. Her passion during the set was inspiring, and amazing to see live.
